"In coming days, it will not be possible to survive spiritually without the guiding, directing, comforting, and constant influence of the Holy Ghost" (Nelson, Russell M., "Revelation for the Church, Revelation for Our Lives," General Conference, Apr. 2018).
Personal revelation is an amazing gift our Heavenly Father bestows upon us. Learning how to receive it is interesting. I remember teaching seminary, explaining that its personal, so they shouldn't expect to receive the way their friend does.
Sometimes I feel like I have no idea how to receive it and then sometimes it comes flooding into my mind. I guess it depends on where I'm at in my life. I have often said that I know that I'll get answers and directions for things I need to do involving my callings (my responsibilities and assignments) at church. I don't always recognize it when it involves just me, personally.
I've already mentioned my "waiting place" while I was figuring out where I was going with my life after seminary was a thing of the past. I often am in times of waiting. I think it's often what happens in the waiting that gives us the opportunities to grow.
In the April 2018 General Conference, President Russell M. Nelson said, "I urge you to stretch beyond your current spiritual ability to receive personal revelation, for the Lord has promised that 'if thou shalt seek, thou shalt receive revelation upon revelation, knowledge upon knowledge, that thou mayest know the mysteries and the peaceable things- that which bringeth joy, that which bringeth life eternal.' Oh, there is so much more that your Father in Heaven wants you to know" (Nelson, Apr. 2018).
I have decided that I need to spend time working on "stretching beyond" my current capacity. So, I'm looking for it. I'm looking for it everywhere. And then, I'm recording it. I know that if I follow promptings, I will get more promptings. That's the way He seems to work. So, today when I felt prompted to take some water to a woman waiting in the lobby, just to find out she wasn't there, I chalked it up as still following, even though nothing came of it- besides me actually talking to the entirely wrong person! Haha! -I get that from my dad! Not recognizing someone from one moment to the next on a movie, after a change of clothes, or something like that- 😂
I challenge you to record what you're impressed to do. See where you go when you let the Lord lead you!

A good reminder...follow the promptings. Thanks for this. Yours is probably the only blog I follow and will read since I only have enough time to read one blog. Lol. Love ya twin! :)
